We are proud to partner with some of our music industries leading professionals to facilitate a life-changing scholarship program for young learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. The future becomes a lot brighter for our successful candidates through the removal of the financial hindrance, mated with mentoring sessions, internship opportunities, career guidance and life skills development.
We are proud to announce the “AKA Scholarship” powered by SAE Institute and Bridges for Music. This scholarship is a collaboration between top South African artist AKA, SAE Institute and non-profit Bridges for Music and covers the full year tuition for SAE’s full-time Higher Certificate in Sound Production at the state-of-the-art campus in the heart of Cape Town at the renowned Woodstock Exchange.
Black Coffee Scholarship
We are proud to partner with the DJ Black Coffee Foundation and Bridges for Music to facilitate the funding of a disadvantaged Sound Production student annually. Preference will be given to a physically challenged candidate. The funding covers the full tuition for a student to study SAE's renowned one year full-time Higher Certificate in Sound Production qualification, at our bespoke new campus in Cape Town's renowned Woodstock Exchange.
Ready D Scholarship
Dj Ready D is a South African hip hop DJ and turntablist best known as the DJ for breakthrough hip hop group Prophets of the City in the 1990s. He is also rated to be one of the Top 30 hip hop djs in the world. He toured Europe extensively for 6 years with his group POC, and has also performed alongside Public Enemy, Fugees, Ice T, Spearhead, James Brown, Rob Swift, Steve D, Will Smith, Black Eyed Peas, DJ Spinna and Jazzy Jeff. He has played too many festivals to mention, has his own radio show on Goodhope FM, performed for Nelson Mandela, and is also the brand ambassador for Pioneer in South Africa.
Young Guru Scholarship
We are proud to have partnered with the Young Guru Foundation and NGO Heal the Hood to facilitate the funding of a student to study a one-year, full time Higher Certificate in Sound Production at our campus in Cape Town.
Revered as The Sound of New York, Gimel Keaton, better known as Young Guru, has more than a decade of experience in sound engineering, production, and A&R for the acclaimed Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. Most recognised for shaping some of the biggest talent in Hip Hop, Young Guru has mixed 10 of Jay-Z’s 11 albums, and has earned himself a number of shout-outs on Jay-Z’s tracks paying homage to his exceptional skills behind the boards.
HLUBI MBOYA ARNOLD SCHOLARSHIP
Hlubi is an award winning film and television actress, social justice and civil rights activist, sponsored athlete and social entrepreneur. Known for her roles in SABC 3’s soapie Isidingo, SABC 1’s drama series Mfolozi Street and as a celebrity contestant for SABC 2's Strictly Come Dancing, she is also an accomplished business woman and heads up the non-profit Future CEO’s. She a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Program and a Director at Sunshine Cinema.
